Must read in Science: A study by Pr. Philip Awadalla on the variations in genetic material found in mitochondria

The study, "High-Resolution Genomic Analysis of Human Mitochondrial RNA Sequence Variation”, was achieved thanks to the 40,000 Quebecers who participated in the CARTaGENE project led by Philip Awadalla, professor at the Pediatrics Department of the Université de Montréal.

CARTaGENE is one of the most complete genetic information database and biobank in the world. In addition to genetic information, CARTaGENE collects life history, place of residence, ethnicity, language, family medical history and personal medical history of participants.
