The goals of the workshop are:

  • To put a spotlight on emerging synthetic biology research in Canada
  • To situate that research in relation to leading centres and initiatives in the UK and the US
  • To identify pathways to commercialization involving both large-scale industries and small to medium enterprises

A key audience for the workshop will be government agencies and funding organizations in Canada for whom synthetic biology should be a major investment and policy priority.
