Demystify CRISPR : a must-see panel!

As part of DNA Day festivities, Génome Québec presents a panel at EFFERVESCENCE, an event bringing together the actors of life sciences and health technologies in Québec.

CRISPR is a revolutionary technology that raises new hopes, but also a number of concerns. Through everything that is being said in the media today, how do we distinguish what is true from what is not? What are the risks and the potential of this technology? All these questions and more will be discussed by Québec experts in various fields during this captivating panel, hosted by Michel Rochon, scientific and medical journalist and lecturer at UQÀM.

Date: April 24, 2019

Time: 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Panelists:

  • Sylvain Moineau, Professor, Département de biochimie, de microbiologie et de bio-informatique, Université Laval
  • François Belzile, Professor, Department of plant science, Université Laval
  • Vardit Ravitsky, Associate Professor of Bioethics Programs, Université de Montréal
  • François-Thomas Michaud, CEO, Feldan Therapeutics

The first edition of EFFERVESCENCE will take place April 24 and 25 at La TOHU (Montreal). A true scientific and business beehive, the event proposes to researchers, companies and life sciences industry players a unique opportunity to meet with others, build business relationships, participate in inspiring conferences and discover new industry developments, all in an experiential and stimulating environment.
