Don't miss the next LES (US-Canada) meeting in Montréal.

Precision Medicine is an effort that will revolutionize how we improve health and treat diseases.  Major research initiatives throughout the world are exploring the information that is hiding in the genes to find innovative approaches to treat patients by taking into account their individual characteristics. Over the last few years, the US Supreme Court ruled that human genes and broad diagnostic methods are not patentable, and the USPTO released new examination guidelines in view of these decisions, making the IP protection of discoveries related to human genomics very challenging.

Speakers Daniel Bouthillier, General Manager for the Quebec Network for Personalized Health Care, Alain Dumont, Patent Agent and Partner at Goudreau Gage Dubuc and Nadine Beauger, Vice-President – Scientific Liaison at IRICoR will discuss how these decisions has impacted the way of doing research and explain their strategy to overcome this barrier in order to promote innovation and economic growth.
