  • Genome Canada competition - Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP)

    Genome Canada launched a new funding program seeking proposals which focus on the partnerships of users and academia and to promote the application of genomics-derived solutions to address key sector challenges or opportunities facing Users - User pull.


    This is a rolling application process that consists of an Expression of Interest (EOI), a teleconference pitching session and a supplementary proposal. After receipt and acknowledgement of eligibility of the EOI by Génome Québec and Genome Canada, the applicants will be invited to submit a supplementary proposal. The proposal will be subjected to a due diligence review. 


    In order to better prepare the projects for this competition, Génome Québec will also complete a due diligence review of the EOIs prior to submission to Genome Canada. EOIs will be reviewed by an external Review Panel. Applicants will be required to present their business case to the Review Panel at which time they will be screened for eligibility and alignment with GAPP guidelines. All applicants will receive feedback on their EOIs including gaps and areas for improvement. Génome Québec plans to use this feedback to assess the level and type of support required to help the team through the application process.

  • 2017 Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (B/CB) Competition

    Genome Canada is seeking proposals for research projects to be funded for the creation of next generation bioinformatics and computational biology (B/CB) tools and methodologies. The lack of efficient B/CB tools and methodologies available to analyze these data sets and maximize the impact of the research is a major bottleneck faced by the genomics research community.

    The main objectives of this Request for Applications (RFA) are to :

    1. Support the development of next generation bioinformatics and computational biology tools and methodologies that will be required to deal with the large amounts of data produced by modern genomics technologies, analyze and integrate complex data sets and to better understand the associated biology.
    2. Provide broad and timely access of these new bioinformatics and computational biology tools to the research community.
