About Josée Hébert

Dr. Josée Hébert is Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal since 1994 and she holds the Industrielle Alliance Research Chair in leukemia.

She is the founder and director of the Québec Leukemia Cell Bank, a provincial research infrastructure which has contributed to several important blood cancer research projects since 2003. She is also a member of the executive committee of the Cancer Research Network of the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé. She is researcher at the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) Research Centre, associate investigator at the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC), and head of the IRIC-HMR molecular cytogenetics platform for research.


As a hematologist in the Division of Hematology-Oncology at HMR, she is involved in clinical research in the Leukemia program and is directing the clinical cytogenetics laboratory.

 

Dr. Hébert has developed a wide expertise in leukemia and cancer cytogenetics and she is the Co-Leader of the Leucegene group at IRIC-HMR, a multidisciplinary translational research team in leukemia. The objective of this group is to identify novel markers and therapeutic targets and to develop new drugs for acute leukemia.

 

Over the last 5 years she has co-authored 20 publications related to cancer genetics and leukemia in international journals.
