Josette-Renée Landry

President and CEO

Josette-Renée is the President and CEO of Génome Québec. Previously, CEO of the Institut du Savoir Montfort and Vice President of Research and Education at Hôpital Montfort. She is also the founder of Streamline Genomics, a digital health company that combines precision medicine and artificial intelligence. Josette-Renée has many other roles, including Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Université de Montréal and Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Ottawa. Until 2018, she was Vice President of Business Development at Mitacs. Her interest in governance and research has led her to serve on numerous boards and on a variety of academic, industry, and scientific committees.

 

Josette-Renée holds a PhD in genetics from the University of British Columbia and a certificate in bioinformatics, and she completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Cambridge University in England. Her research interests include health services for minority communities, the identification and interpretation of genetic abnormalities in leukemia, the development of digital tools for the medical community

Marie-Kym Brisson

Vice President, Strategic Development and Public Affairs

Marie-Kym Brisson has been Vice-President, Strategic Development and Public Affairs at Génome Québec since 2009. She has nearly 30 years’ experience in public affairs and communications in environments shaped by diverse socio-political agendas at the Québec, Canadian and international levels. A seasoned manager, Marie-Kym has devoted the last 15 years of her career to the strategic development of genomics in Québec. In this capacity, she has implemented various initiatives aimed at building collaborations and concluding partnerships to benefit the integration and expansion of genomics in the life sciences, agriculture, and natural resources sectors. She is a regular participant in numerous strategic discussions in Québec, Canada and France, notably on issues of public policy, genomic medicine, public acceptance and scientific culture. She has particularly distinguished herself through the publication of numerous strategic orientation documents.

Prior to this, Marie-Kym spent nine years in the financial sector. She has also worked in politics. Very involved in her community, she currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Centre Québécois d’Innovation en Biotechnologie (CQIB), as well as on the Board of Directors of Maison du Parc, a shelter for people living with HIV-AIDS.

Marie-Kym Brisson is a graduate of Université de Montréal in political science and HEC in advertising management. She also holds a certificate from the Institut de Leadership du Québec in “Management Leadership”.

Patrick Blondin

Vice President, Technology Centres

Patrick Blondin completed a PhD in animal science at Université Laval. He pursued his studies for several years at North Carolina State University before coming back to Québec. He then worked in a private organization, Boviteq, for 18 years, mainly in research and development, and also as Director of Operations by interim. He got promoted as Vice President Research and Innovation in 2018. Patrick is a co-author of more than 80 scientific publications. He joined the Centre d’expertise et de services Génome Québec team in October 2021 as Vice President, Technology Centres.

Stéphanie Lord-Fontaine

Vice President, Scientific Affairs

Stéphanie Lord-Fontaine is a senior research administrator with close to 20 years of experience in the academic and biopharmaceutical sectors as well as in research funding agencies. From 2007 to 2017, she was the Senior Director of Scientific affairs at Genome Quebec. In her role of Executive Director of the Oncopole, she participated in the design and launch of several large-scale oncology projects in Quebec. She also worked at the federal level, in Director of Research roles at Brain Canada and the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Stephanie started her career in the industry leading preclinical research for BioAxone Therapeutic. She holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry, followed by postdoctoral training in neuroscience. Her current role is to oversee the research investment strategy and operations for the different partnerships and funding programs at Genome Quebec.
